Creation of basic networking components of Virtual Cloud Network in OCI and provisioning Compute Instance

1.. Login to OCI Cloud account click on hamburger menu and again click on Networking Tab. Once You are on the Networking page, select compartment where you want to create your VCN.

2.. Give name for VCN and enter CIDR block and select CREATE VIRTUAL CLOUD NETWORK ONLY to create all other basic networking components manually.

3.. Once VCN is created click on VCN that you have created and click on Tab Security list to Create Security list.

Ingress rule

Source CIDR = 0.0.0.0/0

Protocol = TCP

Source port = All

Destination Port = 22

Whereas egress rule is left empty.

Note:- By default in OCI Security List is stateful which means the response is tracked and automatically allowed regardless od any egress rule .i.e outgoing traffic.

4.. Now click on Tab Create Internet Gateway, enter name for Interent Gateway and select compartment and click on Create Internet Gateway.

Note :- Internet gateway provides a path for network traffic between VCN and the internet.

5.. Now click on Create Route Table enter the name for Route Table and for Route Rules

Select

Internet Type = Internet Gateway

Destination CIDR = 0.0.0.0/0

Compartment = COM_Dawa

Target Internet Gateway = DEMO_INTERNET_GATEWAY

6.. Now click on Create DHCP and select DNS Type as

6.2.. CUSTOM RESOLVER

7.. Now click on Create Subnet and

select

Subnet Type= AVAILABILITY DOMAIN-SPECIFIC

Availability Domain = PHX-AD-3

CIDR BLOCK= 10.0.0.0/24

Route Table = DEMO_ROUTE_TABLE

SUBNET ACCESS = PUBLIC SUBNET

DNS RESOLUTION = USE DNS HOSTNAMES IN THIS SUBNET

DHCP OPTIONS = DHCP

Security Lists = DEMO_SEC_LIST

8.. Once your VCN is created it will appear as shown in given below.

9.. Lets Create Compute Instance in Virtual Cloud Network (VCN) which is manually created.

10.. Once Instance is provisioned use the pubic IP address from the compute Instance page and hence your login is successful.
